Remodeling

We love the Remodeling business. We have been doing it since 1990 and feel this is our specialty. Every Remodel or Renovation project is individual and unique and I love the challenge! As a General Contractor, I am involved in every aspect of your project including my specialty of custom woodworking! We have had the privilege of many exciting remodel plans from residential additions to commercial business projects. We do all phase of construction including kitchens, bathrooms, adding additional living space. Also structural projects like lifting houses, leveling, foundation replacement and earthquake preparedness. Also alternative living space in basements. Exterior projects include window, siding and roof/gutter replacements. We have been featured in Parr Lumber's “Inside Angle Magazine” for home/office conversions.

We have done several historical renovations, a 100 year old Motel, a 90 year old Medical building and a Residential home which we followed the historical guidelines to restore them to their original beauty and value. Its very important to me that our renovation work looks like it has always been there. I think it's important not to change the original character of a home to keep its value. We have also done Remodel projects that challenged us that no other contractor wanted to do, with seismic and tidal wave issues to meet safety standards and keep historical value. Let us remodel or renovate your wonderful home!

Here are just a few of the many remodeling projects we've worked on.

Kitchen Remodel

This was an old beach cottage which had unusually low ceilings and a window over the cooktop with no ventilation. The homeowner was interested in having a non-traditional kitchen with shelving instead of upper cabinets.

We decided to remove the roof and ceiling and rebuilt a vaulted ceiling for a more spacious look!

We removed the window over the cooktop and enclosed the wall to add cooktop ventilation and installed new appliances. So with the rough sawn and distressed knotty alder countertops, the bead board on the walls and tongue and grooved 1x4 ceilings, the cast iron country sink, the unique wall shelving and the drop down lighting added a very cozy atmosphere to this beach cottage.

Because of my love for carpentry and woodworking, I have had the privilege to build many custom projects for my customers. I have recently built a unique aquarium stand and built-in seating alongside of a built-in television/electrical components shelving with lighting. I have transformed many closets into custom cabinet storage. Many personalized bookshelving units from the formal to the unique! Call us with your ideas!

Custom Woodworking

This project was in the Irvington neighborhood or district of Portland. It was a home of great character. The owner wanted to restore some of the original woodwork and beauty. She also wanted to add a bathroom and another bedroom.

We were asked to complete some work that had been started at an earlier date. After starting the work we were asked to do many other small projects, repairs and additional work. The owner had started projects personalty and we were able to work with them throughout the project up to the point we were completed with our work.

It was a great project. I loved the challenge of building some of the things they came up with. They were good at describing what they wanted and great people to work for. I am very grateful that I got to work on their home.

Remodeling - Historic Restoration

This Project was a restoration on the exterior of the home. Built in approximately 1905 we were asked to repair the areas of rot, decay and settling due to its age. The owners had some of the original photos at the time it was build. They even had pictures of a horse and wagon delivering lumber to the home.

We carefully worked around the exterior and their yard making necessary repairs prior to painting. This was one of my favorite projects. The Owners were wonderful. They allowed me to do what needed to be done to their home. I kept them informed from start to finish and their project turned out beautiful. Thank you Ryan & Angie.

We added additional space in the owners existing home office and created a space for their creative thought, comfort and enjoyment. It was a pleasure to work for this professional couple. They are very detailed and new what they wanted.
We had to reconstruct bearing points and walls, remove a existing staircase, add and supported a 840 square foot deck, added storage and a niche for their antique desk. The owners were involved thought out this project with their ideas and impute, their hands on work in some areas, changes to the Blue Prints and working with us with our impute and through some weather issues.

This project turned out beautiful and it was a enjoyable challenge. I am very grateful that we were able to do this project and the owners love it.

Attic Renovation

This attic renovation was for a young couple with a growing family. They needed another bedroom and a play area. The house they bought was a wonderful older home that had allot of character in SE Portland. Due to our companies status with the city of Portland's FIR program we were able to legally use their attic space for the addition. The owners were helpful throughout the project and it turned out beautiful.
